Why is it that we feel the most patriotic only on 15th August and 26th January? Is it some kind of a day set like Valentine's Day for love and Friendship's day for Friendship? Why doesn't it seem acceptable to me?.. Can't every day be a day of love, friendship and patriotism? Expressing love for one's country should be everyday instead of watching the parade on the special days, expressing love to our loved ones should be everyday instead of being all flowery and loving on valentine's day, being loyal to our friends should be everyday instead of tying a band signifying the number of friends we have in our lives on Friendship's day.
I have been a little under the weather today so I got up very late and the first thing I typed on youtube was "Republic Day Parade 2015", since watching it has been a habit with my grandfather almost every year. I am very thankful to him for inculcating this habit into me but I was wondering why does this happen every year. I can be a better citizen of India than just watching the parade like I can be a better friend without tying a friendship band on my friend's wrist.
Why was I born in India? To serve my country would be my first response to anybody but what could be my possible response to myself. "To be proud of my existence as an Indian citizen" is my response to myself. Pondering over such issues makes me feel so good about myself as a citizen of India. Listening to "Vande Mataram" wakes up the Indian inside me. Does that mean I need to listen to this track everyday to be a good citizen? No. I wanna be a good citizen everyday. I wanna be able to improve my country in the smallest manner possible.

My pledge today is "to make sure that I will take care of minute things that can make India a better place to mark its advancement in the world". If not a drastic change, I might be able to bring a pertinent but not essential change. I wanna be able to Love without any condition and express it without any hesitation.
